Asheville Zipline FAQs

1. What is proper ziplining attire?

Closed toe shoes are required. Harness straps will cover waist, shoulders and thighs, therefore longer sorts or pants are recomended , and tank tops are discouraged.

2. What are the age and weight requirements?

All Guests must weigh between 70 and 250 pounds, and you must be at least 10 years old to participate (Asheville Treetops Adventure Park welcomes guests as young as 7 years old.).

3. What are the physical requirements of your course?

Guests must have good range of motion in their arms and shoulders to be able to perform proper braking procedures, and also must be able to climb stairs several stories.

4. Will I be in the trees?

Yes! although our course is in an urban, park like setting, there are many beautiful trees on the course! Most of our platforms are in trees, some over 150 years old! Some of our zips go through the canopy, and some are in the open air! 3 of our platforms are in the “Jenga” tower, which is 54 feet to the top!

5. What is the layout of your course?

We offer 10 ziplines and 3 sky bridges, 2 that are 100 feet long! After “ground school,” you will do 3 introductory zips to help you “get your wings,” then you will traverse to the top of the tower where you will start your journey through the trees!

6. What is the highest we will be on the course?

Our highest platform is about six stories high, and our highest zipline is about 70 feet above ground!

7. How long is your longest zipline?

Our longest zipline is 1200 feet long. That is about a quarter of a mile!

8. Can I wear my sunglasses or baseball cap?

Yes! Sunglasses usually stay on with the help of a helmet, but a strap will ensure they stay on. Baseball caps work best when they don’t have the button on the top.

9. How long does the tour last?

The time it takes to zip our course varies depending on the number of people on your tour. We cap each tour with 10 people maximum unless you make prior arrangements with your group. The typical 10 person group lasts about 2 and a half to 3 hours. If the tour is not full, it can take less time. We also offer a “short course” for groups larger than 10 peolpe with time limitations that consists of 8 ziplines and 1 skybridge.

10. Will I zipline over water?

No. This particular course is an urban course on a 125 acre property 1 mile from downtown Asheville. It does offer breathtaking views of the city skyline as well as the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. Our company does offer another zipline/canopy tour just 53 miles from this location where you can zip over the Pigeon River twice on 1200 foot ziplines, as well as by a waterfall and over a creek! For more information on that course, or any of our other courses, check us out at
